$51.8 Million Verdict in Queens Supreme Court
Krupnik’s client, a Corona man, who suffered severe injuries in a 2017 car crash, was awarded a $51.8 Million verdict.
This resulted in a verdict that is among the largest sums ever recorded for a New York City auto collision.
The victim (plaintiff) who is in his 40’s was rear-ended on the Long Island Expressway and began to experience numbness in this hand which was caused by a herniated disk in his neck. Unfortunately, his meniscus was also damaged in the collision and the injuries did require a surgical intervention.
After months of negotiations the other driver’s insurance company only offered a sum of $225,000 which was extremely low for such a serious injury and a limited range of motion.
With the assistance of our trial counsel we successfully tried the case in Queens Supreme Court and the jury award included:
- $5 Million for past damages
- $36 Million for future damages
- $5 Million for future medical expenses
The total award was $46.1 Million plus the nine percent judicial interest from the summary judgement in 2018 which brought the overall total to $51.8M.
